PMU - 305

Power Management Unit

The PMU - 305 is a Power Management Unit which is specially designed for the UAV systems, power unit has multiple inputs. Incase of failure in one power inputs, the system enables a priority hot swap system that ensures uninterruptible power supply to the UAV Avionics system.

PMU Unit has four Power inputs

• Generator (On-Board Generator)
• Battery 1 (On-Board Main Battery)
• Battery 2 (On-Board Emergency Battery)
• External Power (Connected to ground unit, when on ground)

The PMU is powered by the on-board Generator, It charges the Main Battery and supply power to On-board Avionics. In case of generator failure, the PMU consumes power from Main Battery (Battery 1) and switches to Emergency Battery (Battery 2). External Power input is normally used to power the avionics system on ground.

PMU Unit has five Power outputs

Output 1 - This output of is alway switched on as the main's is powered On (Avionics System)

Output 2 - This output of is alway switched on as the main's is powered On (Actuators System)

Output 3 - This output can be switched on or off by the GCS (Payload System)

Output 4 - This output can be switched on or off by the GCS (CanBus Systems)

Output 5 - This output can be switched on or off by the GCS (Serial RS232 interface)

The PMU Output 1 & 2 can be override using switches for on and off. The unit also has voltage and current monitoring system for all inputs and outputs. The monitoring system reports the value through CANBUS and serial RS232 system combined with UAVision Protocols.

Technical specifications:
